Government has dismissed public fears that it intends to effect a lockdown in the awake of coronavirus.
On Monday, social media platforms were awash with rumors that government intends to effect a lockdown starting from April 5 for 21 days.
But Minister of Information Mark Botomani has said the issue of lockdown is not in discussion at the moment.
Botomani further added that President Peter Mutharika will address the nation on the matter when it is necessary.
The minister went on advising the general public to cross check first whenever they come across such stories.
Up to date Malawi has not registered any case of coronavirus.
