Hope for the Blind Receives K5.9 million for Scholarship

First Discount House (FDH) bank has gifted Hope for the Blind K5.9 million to benefit 10 unprivileged students from Chancellor College and secondary schools across the country.

The bank, through its Managing Director, Elias Ngalande said the K5.9 million given to Hope for the Blind so that it should administer scholarships that will carter school fees, upkeep fees and boarding fees for the students.

“As FDH bank, we take interest in uplifting the livelihoods of Malawians and offering equal opportunities for growth to Malawians. the students under Hope for the Blind scholarship meet various challenges and we found it important to intervene,” Ngalande said.

Hastings Bwande, Hope for the blind Executive Director thanked FDH bank for the scholarship that it will help the students to complete their studies.

“we are grateful for the continued support from FDH that will see the students complete their studies,” said Bwande.

FDH bank has been sponsoring Hope for the Blind for four years through its program, FDH Cares.
