JB condemns Matola’s verbal attacks on Jane Ansah

Former President and People’s Party President Dr. Joyce Banda has condemned remarks made my her party’s Secretary General Ibrahim Matola directed at MEC chairperson Dr. Jane Ansah during a NECOF meeting in Blantyre today.

Matola told Ansah leave the Commission with her “bras and underwears.” The remarks angered delegates to the meeting and he later apologized.

Speaking in an interview with Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) described the statement by Matola as unfortunate.

“I condemn in the strongest terms what Hon Ibrahim Matola said about Justice Dr Jane Ansah when he was making his contribution at the NECOF meeting today in Blantyre,” Dr Banda has said.

She added “There are many things Justice Ansah could have done or said during this Electoral process that I do not agree with, but she does not deserve to be spoken to in that manner.”

Malawians are demanding for the immediate resignation of all MEC commissioners accusing them of failing to handle the May 21, 2019 Presidential polls.
