Two men have died after being struck by lightning at Dwangwa in Nkhotakota district.
Ignatius Esau, Nkhunga Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) said the deceased have been identified as Francis Banda 19 of Nyanje village T/A Kanyenda in the district and Steven Kachepa, an adult from Makote village TA Liwonde in Machinga district.
“They were struck yesterday in the morning inside unfinished house which they were seeking shelter during the down pour in Dwangwa. So, the lightning struck the two and were instantly electrocuted.” He said
The Nkhunga Police Station PRO said the two were rushed to Nkhunga Health Center where they were pronounced dead upon arrival and postmortem revealed that death of the two was due to lightning.
