Lingadzi police warns video show operators against accommodating children

Lingadzi police in Lilongwe city has warned video show operators against accommodating children.

The law enforcers made the warning, March 4, 2020, at Mtsiliza during a visit to some of the video shows in the area.

Shockingly, police found that in all video houses there were children who were supposed to be in classes at that particular time.

Speaking during the campaign, community policing coordinator Inspector Rashid Chimala warned video show owners against allowing school going children patronising video houses not to distract them from school work.

“We have been talking about this for a long time now, but it seems you don’t want to change. These children are tomorrow’s future, it’s therefore the responsibility of anyone to make sure that they go to school. How can you allow someone’s child to be in a video house this early morning instead of being in class?” Wondered Chimala.

Police have further warned that in liaison with the city council, stringent measures will be taken against any video house owner acting to the contrary
