Commotion has erupted at Area 3 police unit as law enforcers are battling with supporters of Human Right Defenders Coalition (HRDC) Chairperson Timothy Mtambo who is expected to hand himself there, Faceofmalawi can reveal.
The law enforcers fired teargas at the angry supporters who were chanting songs against the arrest of HRDC leaders.
Before firing teargas, the law enforcers engaged Billy Mayaya to liaise with the protest group to move away from the Lilongwe Police Station entrance.
Meanwhile Mtambo has handed himself to the police.
