An International Reggae dancehall Gospel duo based in Lilongwe, Midili has been nominated for Prayze Factor awards in Atlanta Georgia United States of America.
One of the artist , Glema Veto said Midili managed to get the global attention with the release of the song called ‘ I‘m redeemed’ in 2016 which enjoyed much airplay in the country, United Kingdom , Jamaica and United States of America.
“I’m redeemed got position number one in a weekly countdown show on the Salt FM in UK on a programme hosted by Shoggy Tosh and this secured a nomination of the best number one hit song in 2018,” he said.
Veto added that Prayze Factor Awards recognizes different talents across the globe.“It’s actually a platform that gives independent gospel artists an opportunity to get their brands a global exposure and also in the US market,” he said.
The Singer said this is a big achievement and means Malawi music is making inroads on international platform.“We have seen the grace of God in the nominations because we are among the artists representing Africa,’’ he pointed out.
Midili has gotten six nominations for Prayze Factor Awards in Atlanta like, best song of the year ‘Midili-New Level’, new artist of the year, song writer of the year, urban duo of the year, international group of the year and rhythm and praise group of the year.
The Prayze Factor Awards will be given in September from 17 to 20, 2020 while the closing date for voting is April 15, 2020
