Malawi Defence Force (MDF) will deploy solders during the nationwide lockdown that is expected to commerce on Saturday April 18th and end 9th May.
According to MDF commander Peter Namathanga, they will deploy officers to monitor and enforce the compliance with precautionary measures.
He said that ‘ lockdown simply means stay at home’ as such, they expect everyone to be at home.
Namathanga added that any act that contravenes the lockdown measures is punishable by the law.
