Former Secretary General for Assembly for Democracy and Development (ADD) Dr. Alex Solanke has questioned the move by former Vice President Dr. Cassim Chilumpha to endorse President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika ahead of the fresh Presidential polls, saying Chilumpha is unstable.

Last week Friday, Chilumpha held a media briefing in the commercial capital Blantyre where he endorsed Mutharika.

“After a thorough scrutinization of all the presidential candidates, I and the ADD have reached a decision to endorse the candidature of Professor Arthur Peter Muntharika,” said Chilumpha.

But speaking in an interview with Faceofmalawi, Dr. Solanke said Chilumpha cannot be trusted.

“I left ADD because of inconsistencies and contradictions in Chilumpha’s policies and actions. So I do not know why he has chosen this option. He is highly unstable and can change his position anytime. DPP had better be warned if the report is true,” said Solanke.

Meanwhile President Mutharika is set to present nomination papers for fresh Presidential polls on Thursday this week.
