Government should involve us chiefs to fight Covid-19 – Senior Chief Malemia

The Senior Chief of Nsanje district Malemia has urged the government to involve stakeholders which include religious leaders, Media and Traditional leaders to help prevent further spread of the pandemic.

Speaking in an interview, Senior Chief Malemia said it is the responsibility of all Malawians which include Traditional Authority, Academia, Religious leaders, Media to avoid further spread of the Corona Virus in country.

“For the awareness campaign government should involve the media as they play vital role in sensitizing community on how to prevent further spread of the pandemic,” he said.

Senior Chief Malemia commended Nsanje DHO and his staff for working tirelessly to defeat further spread of the pandemic and appreciated the Authority for putting much effort to combat the virus.

On development, Malemia thanked government for constructing tarmac road from Nsanje Boma to Marka which he said will enhance social development and business will run smoothly than before.

He however urged government to construct bridge at Mtayamoyo which was washed away by heavy rains to ease transportation which is a challenge at the moment.
