Chilima invades DPP’s stronghold

State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima who is also Tonse Alliance runningmate is today on campaign tour in Chiradzulu and Thyolo districts, a stronghold for the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

Chilima started his campaign tour with a stopover at Magomero where he said the spirit of late Reverend John Chilembwe cannot be happy to see people of Malawi, especially those in Magomero, Chiradzulu with poor roads, poor schools, hospitals and poverty 56 years after independence.

He said Malawi has stagnated in terms of development because of selfish leaders who only prioritise their own interest.

Chilima is the runningmate of Dr. Lazarus Chakwera who is also President of the main opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) in the fresh polls scheduled for June 23, 2020.

On Wednesday, Chilima together with United Tranformation Movement (UTM) Secretary General Patricia Kaliati held whistle stop tours in Blantyre.
