Atupele Muluzi promises cellphones, laptops to five million families

United Democratic Front (UDF) President Atupele Muluzi who is also a runningmate to President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika ahead of the fresh Presidential polls has promised to give five million cellphones and laptops to five million families for free in a space of five years.

Muluzi said this during a whistle stop tour held in the Southern Region on Tuesday starting from Bangwe Township in the commercial capital Blantyre.

The young Muluzi was together with Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa and DPP Regional Governor Charles Mchacha.

Since being unveiled as runningmate, Muluzi has been on the ground wooing voters to vote for President Peter Mutharika in the fresh presidential polls scheduled for July 2, 2020.

Meanwhile Malawians have expressed mixed reactions over government’s decision to increase Muluzi’s motorcade.
