Chakwera, Chilima invade Central Region

After successfully holding a campaign rally in Mzuzu, Tonse Alliance President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his runningmate Dr. Saulos Chilima will hold a campaign rally in Kasungu on Saturday.

In the morning, Dr Chakwera, President of the main opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) will hold a whistle stop tours at Kamwendo, Kapiri, Santhe and Chinkhoma.

On the same day, Chilima will hold a whistle stop tours dubbed Imbizo at Mponela, Ntchisi Boma and Malomo before proceeding to Kasungu.

On Sunday, the two leaders will hold a campaign rally at Likuni Boys Ground in the capital Lilongwe.

Meanwhile Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has approved three candidates ahead of the fresh Presidential polls.

The three are Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his runningmate Dr. Saulos Chilima, President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and his runningmate Atupele Muluzi, Peter Kuwani of Mbakuwaku Movement for Development and his runningmate.

The Presidential polls are scheduled for July 2, 2020.
