Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Lazarus Chakwera has said that the all the nine parties under the alliance dire for one thing which is change, as the he has presented his nomination papers for July 2 fresh presidential elections.
Chakwera who was franked by United Transformation Movement (UTM) president who i also the state vice president Saulos Chilima stressed that the alliance is aimed at resolving challenges Malawians are currently facing with the current regime.
“This is a Chakwera-Chilima presidency,” stressed Chakwera after introducing Chilima as his running-mate in the fresh presidential elections.
Chakwera: “We gather here because we have one destiny. God wants us to choose change that hasn’t been there for the last 26 years. This election will bring change. That is basically why all the parties have chosen to unite under the alliance,”.
“We stand here before you because we’ve a date with destiny,” he added.
Chakwera added that the MCP, UTM and alliance partners brings to an end the rivalry which has been there between the President and his Vice.
