DEPECO endorses UDF-DPP alliance of President Mutharika

Democratic People’s Congress (DEPECO) has endorsed an alliance of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and the United Democratic Front (UDF) ahead of the fresh Presidential polls scheduled for July 2, 2020.

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is the torchbearer of the DPP-UDF alliance and Atupele Muluzi is the runningmate.

DEPECO President, Chimango Mughogho announced the endorsement today during a media briefing attended by Faceofmalawi reporter.

According to Mughogho, the decision has been arrived at after thorough consultations.

DEPECO’s endorsement comes barely weeks after former Vice President Dr. Cassim Chilumpha of ADD also endorsed President Mutharika as the rightful candidate in the fresh Presidential polls.

Meanwhile President Mutharika is yet to start campaigning ahead of the polls.
