Government through the ministry of information has said the allegations being made behind the Malawi Enterprise Development Fund (MEDEF) loan are baseless and untrue.
Following the official launch of MEDEF loans by resident Peter Mutharika, allegation are being made that the ruling Democratic progressive Party (DPP) is using the initiative as a campaign tool ahead of fresh presidential polls.
On different occasions, united Transformation Movement (UTM) secretary General Patricia Kaliati has been question the timing of the said program is being implemented.
Botomani has however refuted the claims and described the allegations as baseless.
Botomani has since labelled the remarks as insults to parliamentarians who approved the implementation of MEDEF loan program.
At the moment, MEDEF has disbursed K800 million loans to women and youth across the country.
