Pastor Sentenced To Death By Hanging For Killing His Wife Who Was A Banker

High Court in Ikeja has sentenced a youth pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) to death by hanging for the murder of his wife.

The pastor who was identified as Mr Akolade Arowolo was reported to have allegedly murdered his wife, Titilayo who worked for Skye Bank.

The Court presided by Justice Lateefat Okunu handed the death sentence to the pastor as evidences proved that he murdered his wife in their matrimonial home.

A testimony which was in form of a forensic report from Prof. John Oladapo Obafunwa, a pathologist, was what the High Court used in determining that there was no way that the victim could have stabbed herself to death as alleged by her husband.

Prof. Obafunwa testified that an autopsy report showed that Titilayo was murdered through a 76 knife stab wounds which were on various parts of her body including her left eye, right eye, upper chest area, collar bone and right chest.

Titilayo’s family members testified that the couple had always had troubles in their marriage.

On the other hand, Mr Arowolo’s parents testified that their son was not capable of murder.

After the sentence, Mr Arowolo was shouting “Jesus have mercy”.
