Sidik Mia vows to support MCP-UTM alliance

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Vice President Muhammad Sidik Mia has vowed to support the grand alliance of MCP and United Transformation Movement (UTM) ahead of the fresh Presidential polls scheduled for July 2, 2020.

Mia’s remarks are in sharp contrast with social media reports indicating that he is planning to join the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

Writing on his official facebook page after patronizing the presentation of nominaition papers by Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his new runningmate Dr. Saulos Chilima, Mia said he trust the Chakwera-Chilima partnership.

“We have today witnessed the conception of what will give birth to a new Malawi in July this year. I have closely known Dr Lazarus Chakwera and, believe you me, he will be the best President Malawi has ever had.

“Let me also salute the patriotism of Dr Saulos Chilima in complementing Dr Chakwera in our quest to develop our country. Today, Malawi has won,” wrote Mia.

Mia has since urged Malawians to go and register.
