Thief Gets Stuck In Window After House Breaking Goes Wrong In South Africa (Watch Video)

A burglar was arrested in Klerksdorp, North West Province, South Africa, after he was caught red-handed trying to break into a house during the coronavirus induced lockdown.

The hoodlum was caught after he got stuck in a small window he had tried to use to gain entry into the house.

The foiled housebreaking attempt was captured on camera after the house breaker’s shrieks of pain alerted the resident’s who woke up to investigate the sounds.

According to TimesLive, the incident happened in the early hours of Saturday.

Provincial police spokesperson Col Adele Myburgh confirmed the burglar’s arrest.

In the video which was published on social media by Crime Air Network Initiative, the house breaker who is seen dangling upside down can be heard begging one of the resident’s recording the video to allow him to explain himself.

“Let me explain,” he pleads while he desperately attempts to take off the sweater that he is wearing.

He also tries in vain to wriggle free from the window and leaves bloodstains on the wall while crying out in pain.

Police spokesperson Col Myburgh said the incident took place around 4.55 am and that police are currently investigating the housebreaking. He also added that the house breaker sustained minor injuries due to the mishap.

‘The 39-year-old is in court. He was not seriously injured during this incident,’ said Col Myburgh.
