Women Legal Resources Centre (WOLREC) has said over 40 people from Nsanje and Neno district to work as community journalists.

Dumase Zgambo Mapemba, Communication, Monitoring and Evaluation Research Manager for WOLREC said the training will help in following up on developments in their respective districts.

Communities are urged to be reporting issues in their areas.

Mapemba said apart from bringing issues of transparency and accountability, the journalists will also help to curb gender based violence as they will also be reporting on the same.

She however asked media practitioners in the two districts to assist the new trained reporters for them to work effectively.

One of the participants Annie Mtomwa from Mthawira village in the district thanked WOLREC for the training and promised to work very hard.
