The Human Right Defenders Coalition (HRDC) has postponed to a later date demonstrations in Blantyre.
HRDC Southern Region chairperson Masauko Thawe confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
He said they decided not to go on with the demonstrations after noting that Parliament was making some progress on some of the issues they wanted to be resolved.
HRDC, among others, wants Parliament to table and pass the Electoral Reforms Bills and set a date for a fresh election within the 150 days that were prescribed by the Constitutional Court on February 3 this year in Lilongwe.
Yesterday Parliament set June 23, 2020 as a day for fresh Presidential polls.
