‘I will not accept the outcome’ – Atupele

Atupele Muluzi who was running-mate for the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) – United Democratic Front (UDF) alliance has said he will not accept the outcome of the fresh presidential elections.

According to Muluzi the unofficial election results that are circulating on social media platforms which are showing that Tonse Alliance Torchbearer who is also Malawi Congress Party (MCP) president Lazarus Chakwera is winning are illegitimate.

“If Dr. Chakwera had won the election fair and square I would have congratulated him but unfortunately, that is not the case,” Muluzi said.

The young Muluzi has since describe the elections as nothing but a “farce”

“This is nothing but a coup, whoever wins must win fair and square. This election is nothing but a farce,” he added.

In the May 21, 2019 presidential elections, Muluzi was on position 4 with less than 500, 000 votes at the same time he failed to win his Parliamentary seat.

After the 2019 polls, Muluzi left the country to china where he stayed for some time before coming back and congratulate Chakwera and his counterpart Saulos Chilima who won the presidential elections case against Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) and President Peter Mutharika.

Meanwhile, MEC is yet to announce the winner of the fresh presidential elections.
