Unknown thugs suspected to be youth cadets for the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) have petrol-bombed Malawi Congress Party (MCP) offices in the capital Lilongwe.

The development came barely hours after the swearing in ceremony of the newly elected President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.

MCP Spokesperson Maurice Munthali confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying the incident is regrettable.

The law enforcers are investigating the matter.
