Bakili Muluzi congratulates Chakwera for winning fresh polls

Former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi who is also founder of the United Democratic Front (UDF) has congratulated President elect Lazarus Chakwera for his victory in the Malawi’s fresh presidential poll.

In a statement, Muluzi said he ‘wishes Chakwera and Saulos Chilima all the best as they are to rule in the next five years’.

Chakwera outclassed the outgoing President Peter Mutharika after amassing 2.6 million votes against 1.7 million votes.
