Man Battling Financial Issues Throws 3 Month Old Daughter Out Of Window

A man of Nigerian origin living in Greater Noida allegedly threw his three-month-old daughter out of his home’s window. The man allegedly flew into a fit of rage after the cries of his daughter disturbed his sleep.

The accused was identified as Ozioma Declan. Declan and his wife have been living in the Imperial Society of Ecotech 3 since December 2018. The couple lives on the second floor.

Three months ago, the couple welcomed their first daughter into this world. Declan used to collect hair from salons and beauty parlours and sold them to Nigerian companies that manufacture wigs.

Declan’s business took a hit as salons and beauty parlours were closed during the coronavirus lockdown. Due to the lockdown, the 30-year-old man stopped making money and struggled to make both ends meet.

With passing time, the 30-year-old man started becoming increasingly aggressive. Declan’s changed behaviour also scared his wife. However, she never expected him to hurt his own daughter.

At around 6 am on the day of the incident, the accused’s sleep was interrupted due to his daughter’s crying. Furious at the three-month-old child, Declan picked her up and threw her out of the window.

Julie ran behind her husband in an attempt to stop him but she failed. Julie told The Times of India, “Everything happened so quickly, there was no time to react. I rushed to the ground floor. My three-month-old daughter was there, oozing blood and motionless. ”

The guards deployed at the society and the neighbours helped the woman in taking the child to the hospital. The baby was declared brought dead. After the incident came to light, the police booked the accused for murder. The police arrested the accused and informed the Nigerian Embassy about the incident.
