Ntcheu Police Hunts Murder Suspect

Police in the central district of Ntcheu have intensified manhunt for a murder suspect who allegedly stabbed to death his sister Inlaw at Kalumbu village, in Traditional Authority Njolomole in district on Wednesday, June 24.

The suspect, Lyson Mbuno, was engaged in gender based violence with his wife, at around 2200 hours.

The shouts for help from the wife, prompted neighbours and other relatives including a sister to the suspect’s wife, Lyness Lemekezani, now deceased, to wake up and rush in immediately.

The only sin, Lyness committed to warrant her brutal, inhuman, and untimely departure from this world was the plea she forwarded to the brother Inlaw to let her sister leave the house in peace.

To the contrary of the humble plea made, the suspect diverted his attention to the negotiator, Lyness.
He produced a knife and stabbed her on the neck.

Lyness was rushed to Gowa Mission Health Centre for medical attention.
Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead before receiving treatment.

Postmortem done by Ntcheu District Hospital where her body was taken to, revealed that death was due to excessive loss of blood.

The deceased, Lyness Lemekezani, 37, hailed from Kalumbu village, Traditional Authority Njolomole.

Whilst the suspect, Lyson Mbuno, who is still at large, age not advised, hails from Matewere village, Traditional Authority Ganya, both in the district.

Meanwhile, police in the district is calling upon people of good will to inform any nearby police if they come across the whereabouts of the suspect.
