A retired police captain was shot and killed by looting thugs at a pawn shop in St. Louis on Tuesday and the murder was broadcast on Facebook Live according to reports.
77-year-old David Dorn died of a bullet that entered his torso at around 2:30 am on the sidewalk in front of Lee’s Pawn & Jewelry, which is located at 4123 Martin Luther King Drive.
The police do not yet have a suspect and no arrests have been made so far.
The Ethical Society of Police, which is a representative of African American officers in St. Louis, said David was “the type of brother that would’ve given his life to save them if he had to.”

The captain’s wife, Ann Marie Dorn, said David was a friend of the owner of the shop and even worked for him.
When looters triggered the alarm of the shop, he went to check, she said. She was not in a condition to talk more.
David retired back in 2007 after 38 years of serving and protecting. He started as a rookie patrol officer in 1969 and eventually rose to become captain. David was the deputy commander of the Bureau of Patrol Support, which looks after traffic and mounted patrols, commercial vehicles as well as the tactical unit.
After his retirement, David became police chief in Moline Acres.
Former St. Louis County police chief Tim Fitch, remembered David as a “true public service.
Many people on the web said they watched the broadcast live on Facebook, which showed the shooting of David.

A person working for the Ethical Society of Police said they know about the broadcast.
One of the people who watched it was apparently state Rep. Rasheen Aldridge, D-St. Louis.
“Very traumatized right now,” he told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
The video was deleted shortly after the broadcast. Andy Stone, a spokesperson for Facebook, said he was trying to track information regarding the origins of the broadcast.
