YAS questions Ministry of Health’s chaotic process of recruiting HSAs

Youth rights activists have described the huge turnout of youths to the Ministry of Health’s interview as clear indication of a government that has failed to provide employment for its citizens.

Executive Director of the Youth and Society Charles Kajoloweka made the observation following multitudes of young people that were present in various designated places expected to participate in the walk in interviews for the ministry of health today.

The development has come after government through the ministry announced of its interest to recruit 2000 health care workers amidst the spread of Covid 19 in the country.

Reports have also shown that other interviewees got injured at katoto secondary school in Mzuzu due to overcrowding of people and others are feared dead in the process.

Commenting on unemployment levels in Malawi in line with the ministry of health’s recruitment exercise, Kajoloweka said there is need for government to do something to lower down the levels.

He said it’s sad that many youths are staying idol whilst having necessary qualifications for various opportunities in the country.

He further attributed the challenge to government’s failure to manage proper procedure of the interviews to safeguard interviewees in line with Covid 19 health measures.

Kajoloweka then urge young people across the country to vote for leaders who will provide jobs for its citizens and put their interests at heart.
