Consumer Rights Activist Demands Auditing Before Implementation of Reforms in Parastatals

Executive Director for Consumers Association of Malawi (CAMA) John Kapito has called on government to audit all parastatals thoroughly before implementing reforms.

Kapito made the call to the newly elected president Lazarus Chakwera and his vice Saulos Chilima who is head the reforms in government.

Tis follows wide spread condemnation in the previous Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) government which was known of abusing various parastatals.

According to reports parastatals such as ESCOM, MRA, MACRA and others were funding DPP activities.

As a result of focusing on the governing authorities’ demands, the concerned parastatals ended up offering poor services to Malawians.
