7 suspected thieves arrested for breaking into Ministry of Land offices

Seven suspected thieves are in police custody in Lilongwe for allegedly breaking into government offices from where they dismantled computers and made away with hard drives.

The incident happened at Ministry of land, Housing and Urban Development.

The move follows report that the new government under President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is planning to launch an investigations on how some plots were sold in the country.

Recent reports revealed that some top officials in the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) dubiously acquired lands in various location of the country.

One of such people is former Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development Charles Mchacha.
