“As a company we import our goods like hardware items outside the country. Items such as building materials, plumbing materials we import them from South Africa, India and China,” he said.

Niks General Dealers boss further said Covid-19 is a challenge at the moment for business because they are not making much sales.

Concurring with Panjwani sentiments, Madalitso Brown Chimbia of Chilobwe Township said the economy is not doing well because private school teachers are not getting their salaries after closure of schools due to pandemic.

“Government should use strategies such as re-opening schools and put control measures like distributing free masks and sanitizers to pupils and students,” he said.

“The business is not doing well currently with the outbreak of corona virus. We pray that things should be normal as usual,” he said.
