Govt, ISAMA Tussle Over Reopening of Schools

Ministry of Education Science and Technology has said a date for reopening of schools has not been set after at least three months of closure.

According to a press statement made available to this publication, government will announce of the date schools will be ready to reopen.

“The official date for the re-opening of schools will be made by the government after careful analysis of the status of the pandemic,” reads the statement.

This follows the communication from private schools who are urging their students to resume to schools on Monday, July 13.

However, government has said such communications should be disregarded for the actual date for the reopening of schools has not been set.

“All communications confirming July 13, 2020 without prior approval from government should be disregarded forthwith,” reads the statement.

The statement assured the general public of the determination on the possible date of reopening of schools the soonest.
