Man Runs Over 10-Year-Old Boy, Dumps Body in Drain

A 10-year-old boy was allegedly run over by a man in Noida and his body was dumped in a drain. The man was arrested on Tuesday while the incident took place on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Jumman.

Gaffar went missing from near his home on Sunday. After the child went missing, his father Jumman approached the police on Sunday and lodged a complaint.

Jumman and his family members started looking for Gaffar but failed to find him. After being apprised of the incident, the police started also launched an investigation.

While the cops were locating the deceased, a youth informed them that a man had been seen putting a bleeding child in a car and driving away.

The police then checked the CCTV footage of the area and identified the car as a Bolero pick-up van. The police tracked the car and identified the accused as Madan Lal. Lal is a native of Bihar who had been working as a driver in the national capital.

According to Jasmeet Singh, DCP (east), Gaffar was playing outside his home when Lal ran over him. Lal was reversing his car when he ran over the 10-year-old, The Times of India reported. Instead of taking Gaffar to the hospital, Lal drove to a drain in sector 14, Noida and dumped the body there.

While being interrogated, Lal told the police that he panicked as Gaffar appeared to be dead and he threw his body in the drain as he did not want to get arrested. The police registered a case in relation to the incident.
