Mutharika not out of front-line politics, to hold thank you rallies in the South

Former President Professor Peter Mutharika who is also President of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) will hold thank you rallies in the Southern Region.

DPP Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa who is also leader of opposition disclosed this during a post-election “garage meeting” with DPP grassroots supporters at the Regional Office in Blantyre today.

Nankhumwa said the party met yesterday and resolved to do away with divisions and factions within the party.

He then hinted that Mutharika will soon come out to thank people in the region for their vote for him.

Many Malawians thought that Mutharika will retire from frontline politics after losing the fresh Presidential polls to Dr. Lazarus Chakwera of Tonse Alliance.
