Sidik Mia denounces tweeter account

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Vice President Muhammad Sidik Mia who is also Minister of Trade and Industry has distanced himself from a tweeter account created in his name, saying the account is fake.

Mia said this in a facebook post seen by this publication.

“I write to let you know that some unscrupulous people have opened a fake tweeter account in my name and are writing uncouth and rabble-rousing content aimed at soiling my image.

“Please ignore such posts and/or screenshots if you come across them. Yours truly is a man of peace, respect and civility,” wrote Mia.

Social media has recently been awash with facebook and tweeter accounts of various prominent figure including that of United Transformation Movement (UTM) Vice President Michael Usi and also de-facto Vice President Everton Chimulirenji.

All these accounts have been created with ill-motives as users use the accounts to demean others.
