Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) chief whip, Symon VUWA Kaunda, who is also Nkhata Bay Central parliamentarian has dispelled suggestions he has tested positive to Covid-19.
Instead, it is MP for Nkhata Bay North West, Julius Chiwoni Mwase, has gone public disclosing it is he who has tested Covid-19 positive and is admitted to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre.
After a meeting with the presidential taskforce on Covid-19 on Monday, parliament has resolved to have all MP undergo mandatory tests and results be submitted before next sitting of the House.
Vuwa Kaunda told Zodiak Online that Monday evening, he attended a meeting of the Business Committee of Parliament alongside Speaker, Catherine Gotani Hara, Leader of the opposition, Kondwani Nankhumwa where the issue of MP Mwase was raised.
The social media has been awash with speculation that Vuwa Kaunda has also been diagnosed positive to Covid-19.
