Police officer is beaten to death by Angry mob, after trying to arrest resident with no face Mask

Kenya-A police officer has been beaten to death by an irate mob in Mvita sub-county Mombasa after he allegedly tried to arrest a resident for not wearing a face mask.

This incident took place in the notorious Kibokoni area in Mombasa, its alleged the officer received a hefty beating from the irate mob leaving him for the dead by the road side.

According to sources the officer was with a colleague from the Administration police dispensary at tononoka when they were ambushed by the mob when they were trying to enforce some Covid-19 rules.

Its said his colleague managed to escape as the duo did not have weapons on them, According to an eyewitness who sought anonymity the two officers were frequently arresting residents who were not wearing masks and asking for bribe before releasing them.

However the irate residents had decided to face them headon and this left one officer dead. They used stones and all manner of crued weapons one could find around to beat him till he was life less outside a shop.
