A 4-year-old boy has died in a road accident in Dowa after falling from a moving motor vehicle on Tuesday August 25 2020.
The deceased has been identified as Chidziwitso Nelson of Kathuzi Village in Traditional Authority Chiwere in Dowa District.
The accident which happened at Kadikira Village along Mvera Police Roadblock-Kadikira earth road, involved a motor vehicle registration number MN 7099 Toyota Pickup, driven by Aubrey Maliwa, 34, of Mbedza Village in Traditional Authority Chiwere in Dowa.
Dowa Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Sub Inspector Gladson M’bumpha said on the particular day, the motor vehicle was being driven from Chimbalanga Village going towards Mvera Police roadblock with some children on board.
“Upon arrival at Kadikira Village, Chidziwitso Nelson (now deceased) fell down from the vehicle and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Chankhungu Health Centre due to severe head injuries while an 11-year-old passenger sustained bruises on the head and both hands and was treated as an outpatient at Mvera Mission Hospital in Dowa,” the police PRO stated.
