Police have used teargas to disperse a gang of minibus operators who are patrolling Masauko Chipembere Highway and disembarking passengers from minibuses.
Meanwhile, passengers are being left stranded upon being dropped in the middle of the journey.
But minutes ago, the Police have responded by firing teargas to disperse off the protesters causing and clear the Highway.
Among other things, the operators accuse traffic authorities for effecting what they dub as rather oppressive Covid19 communicating measures.
Minibus capacity was reduced by 60% so was an order that passengers should put on face masks.
However, some drivers say they have been heavily fined over such situations.
They also accuse traffic authorities of seemingly targeting them in enforcement of the rules.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the operators is holding a meeting in Limbe on how to go about the situation.
All minibus operators and taxis are being stopped from ferrying passengers during this time.
