Man stoned to death for being suspected of practicing witchcraft

An irate mob on Tuesday stoned a man to death in Dedza for allegedly practicing witchcraft.

Dedza Deputy Police Spokesperson Cassim Manda confirmed of the development in an interview with the press and identified the deceased as Rodgers Julius.

According to Manda, the deceased is accused of bewitching another a man who died in South Africa early last month.

Manda said the deceased was attacked outside his house and when police rushed to the scene, they found him in a pool of blood with serious head injuries.

Julius hailed from Thomu village in the area of Traditional Authority Kasumbu in Dedza .
