In a bid to strengthen the party (Democratic Progressive Party-DPP) at regional level, the regional governor Honorable Mzomera Ngwira, conducted an interface meeting with party leaders.
The meeting that was conducted at his residence ,was attended by regional, district and constituency members.
The regional governor highlighted the current political situation and called all party members to stand firm as the party is going through political metamorphosis.
He further stressed that the current party leader is Peter Mutharika until an appropriate time when he will retire from his position hence need for all to rally behind him.
The regional governor who looked well composed, strong and jovial didn’t mince words to those considering defection to Tonse alliance that soon the party will heal from mourning and that will be stronger than before. He therefore declared his allegiance to the and promised to work hard to bring it back to its glory.
In his remarks, the distinct and constituency governor ( Boyd phiri and Dennis moyo respectively ) thanked the Rg for organising the meeting and further said the meeting was a milestone in revamping the party at constituency, district and regional level.
Among those attended this meeting were : mai chikukula (DOW) mai mwanyongo (regional secretary), Kelvin chirambo(DoY) , shadow councillors, district and constituency commitee members.
