Man arrested for murdering brother over beans

A 42 year old man is in police custody in Lilongwe for allegedly killing his brother over cooked beans.

Lilongwe Police Station Deputy Public Relations Officer Foster Benjamin confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Benjamin, the incident happened on Sunday around Dzalanyama forest.

Benjamin said the suspected identified Solomon Mwenda and his late brother Stanford Mwenda quarreled over beans which ended into fight.

According to Benjamin, the suspect is alleged to have stabbed the deceased to death.

Meanwhile the deceased body is at Kamuzu Central Hospital awaiting postmortem.
