Criminals Steal Motorcycle, Dowa Police Launch Manhunt

Police in Dowa are searching for unknown criminals who have injured and robbed of a motorcycle belonging to Alick Tembo in the early hours of Tuesday at Kongwe Forest Reserve.

Sub Inspector Gladson M’bumpha, Dowa Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) said the victim together with his two relatives left Lumbadzi for Mwansambo on a motorcycle andwere attacked by unknown criminals at Kongwe Forest Reserve.

“The other two relatives (pillion passengers) ran away when the victim was wrestling with the thugs.In the process, the victim sustained head injuries and the motorcycle was stolen. The value of the stolen motorcycle isnot yet established.” Said M’bumpha

He said upon receipt of the information, police visited the scene and inquiries have been instituted to trace and arrest the criminals.

“The victim is admitted at Dowa District Hospital where he is receiving treatment.” Said M’bumpha
