Fire guts down Nkhotakota District Hospital Pharmacy store

Fire has in the early hours of today gutted Nkhotakota District Hospital’s pharmacy store, destroying various medical drugs whose value is yet to be quantified.
The hospital’s spokesperson, Garry Chilinga, confirmed the development, saying no life has been lost.
He further said the cause of the accident is yet to be established, adding that the team is still removing remaining drugs to other compartment.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that the fire emanated from an electric fault.
Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) officials are yet to comment on the incident.
