Legal commentator tips newly appointed judges to avoid prioritization of cases

Legal commentator Justin Dzonzi has tipped newly appointed Supreme Court of Appeal and High Court Judges to treat all cases before them as important rather than prioritizing others.

President Lazarus Chakwera has appointed four Justices of Appeal and 12 High Court Judges to relieve the high vacancy rate in the judiciary that has resulted in a backlog of cases and subsequent denial of justice to many.

For a long time, critics have been calling for the expedition of various fraud and corruption cases that have stalled at the courts.

Some have attributed such incidences to political environment offered by past regimes.

With Tonse Alliance, Malawians are expecting to see courts and other public departments work independently.
