Court in Somalia Sentences Two Men To Death Over Rape, Murder Of 14Yr-Old Girl

A court in Somalia’s semi-autonomous region of Puntland has sentenced two men to death for the rape and murder of a 14-year old girl.
Mohamed Abdi Faray and Abdirahman Mohamed Isaq confessed to the crime after kidnapping the young girl in Bosaso city earlier this year.
In recent months there has been an increase in the number of such attacks across Somalia.
The police are currently investigating several cases, including one of a 19-year-old who was gang-raped and thrown off a six-storey building in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu in September.
