Chakwera to launch National Clean-up Day in Lilongwe on Wednesday

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera will on Wednesday preside over the National Clean-up Day at Chinsapo Ground in the capital Lilongwe.

This has been confirmed in a statement from the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) signed by Dr. Janet L. Banda SC made available to faceofmalawi.

According to the statement, Chakwera will arrive at the venue at 8:30am.

The National Clean-up Day is the replica of the abandoned Youth week launched the first President of the Republic of Malawi Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda over 40 years ago.

During this week, youths could carryout a number of activities in public schools and public hospitals with an aim of keeping the premises clean at all times.
