President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has warned witch doctors to desist from cheat men that by sleeping with their children as ritual they will get rich.
Chakwera said this at Kamuzu Palace in the capital Lilongwe when he interacted with Children as part of commemorations of World Children’s Day.
In his speech Chakwera urged men in the country to defiling and raping women, saying “this was not normal but satanic”.
“Its stupidity. If such men are found they will be charged. We want our children to continue school and our women be protected” he said.
Recently Malawi has experience a sharp rise in rape and defilement case.
The development forced Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to hold demonstrations on the matter.
Meanwhile the Public Affairs Committee (PAC) is set to hold national prayers on the matter.
