Man Murders Nephew, Dismembers The Head And Cooks It

Zimbabwe – A 22-year old man is alleged to have killed his eight-year-old nephew.

Faceofmalawi has established that a man (name not supplied) from Matova Village near Gokomere Mission under Chief Zimuto, killed his nephew and went on to dismember the head before cooking it.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the grisly incident which happened on the 4th of December to a local publication The Sunday Mail.

According to the police report, the incident occurred when the 8-year-old boy, who was in Grade 2 at Matova Primary School, sought shelter from the heavy rains at his uncle’s home on Friday.

It is not clear what really happened on that particular day or what prompted the man to kill his nephew as details to the case are still sketchy. The suspect is alleged to have killed his nephew before cutting off his head.

The matter only came to light after a search for the boy yesterday morning led to the recovery of his head in a pot after a relative forced his way into the suspect’s kitchen where he had locked himself from the inside.

“He was found cooking the boy’s head in a kitchen hut, while the remaining parts of the body were recovered in a shallow pool, wrapped in a mosquito net,” said Assistant Commissioner Nyathi.

The suspect was arrested and is currently in police custody. Meanwhile, the police are still investigating the case as they try to ascertain his mental state.

“We will release the name of the suspect and the deceased tomorrow (today) but the suspect is in police custody and investigations are underway to determine his mental state,”

“Investigations are underway,” he said
