A 23 year old man has died while six others have been injured after being struck by lightning in Nkhatabay.
According Nkhatabay Police Publicist, Kondwani James, the deceased has been identified as Derrick Gondwe and had slept on the floor while it was raining outside.
Suddenly, the lightning struck such that its shock spread in many houses around the Mfufu Village.
“It heavily attacked Derrick who died whilst receiving treatment at Chintheche Rural Hospital. The shock also attacked six occupants of other houses who got injured,” Said James.
The injured are receiving treatment at Chintheche rural hospital.
